About Your Trip Helpful Tips

Whether it be walleye, musky, or just action fishing you will be using the most up to date tackle and learning how to apply the best techniques to catch fish. As in all cases my clients fish from the front of the boat having first chance at all water as I run the boat and fish from the back. I supply an 18' fully rigged Ranger 618 boat equipped with Pin-Point graphs and a Lowrance GPS. In a full day of fishing I will fish as many as 3 to 4 lakes in a day, looking for active fish and teaching new water.
About your day of fishing:
We will meet about 7:00 AM, load up equipment, get any live bait necessary, fishing licenses, food, etc... Any live bait for the day will be paid for by the customer before fishing starts. It is always a good idea to bring a rain suit even if you don't think it's going to rain. I always say "the only time I got wet in the boat is when I thought it wasn't going to rain". As we head to the first stop for the day I will be talking about recent catches and informing about what lake we will be fishing and why, baits that have been working and answering any questions. A full day will consist of no less than 8 hours of fishing and an half day is no less than 4 hours.
What to bring:
All you need to bring for a day of fishing is clothing to suit the weather and any food that you think you may want. If you have a favorite fishing rod and reel and some new baits that you want to use, by all means bring them but keep the equipment to a minimum as space in the boat is valuable. Polarized fishing glasses are a must for musky fishing so be sure to get a pair if you don't have a pair already. A personal camera is a good idea to bring but I supply a high resolution digital camera that is included with the trip and pictures will be sent back via email. Temperatures in the summer can reach the 90 degree range and a good supply of water and sports drinks is a good idea to bring (not alcohol). Six cans of beer is all that is allowed at one time in my boat per person. I think that there is a time and a place to drinking and my boat is not one of them.
